Tyler Chenault: A Leader Who Is Ready to Serve Johns Creek

I am a husband, father, business owner, and active community leader running for Johns Creek City Council because I deeply care about where our city is headed. For years, I have worked alongside first responders, city staff, business owners, and residents — not just listening, but truly understanding the challenges we face and how we can solve them together. My commitment is simple: bring real, actionable solutions to the table, built on listening to people — not playing politics.

My wife, Ashley, and I have lived in Johns Creek for the past seven years, raising our three kids, who attend Ocee Elementary and Taylor Road Middle. Along the way, I have built real relationships with so many of you and have learned firsthand what matters most to our community. I am not a career politician — I am a neighbor, a dad, and a committed member of this community who believes in public safety, strong local businesses, and leadership that actually listens to the people it serves.

Experience That Prepares Me to Lead

My leadership comes from a foundation of service, integrity, and problem-solving. I serve as a board member at Congregation Dor Tamid, where I also teach 8th grade on Sundays, helping guide the next generation to be strong, values-driven leaders. I am proud to be a founding member of Mayor Bradberry’s School Engagement Committee, helping bridge the gap between our city government and local schools. I also serve on the Student Governance Council at Ocee Elementary, where I work directly on issues like budgeting, long-term planning, and school policy — experience that has given me a deep understanding of how city decisions impact families.

One of my most important roles has been serving on the Johns Creek Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA). It is here I have seen firsthand how city policies affect neighborhoods, businesses, and property rights. I have learned how to weigh smart growth against protecting the character of our community — and how to make decisions that keep Johns Creek strong for the long haul. That experience will be critical on City Council, where every choice we make shapes the future of our city.

Commitment to Small Business and Family Values

As a Realtor and Property Manager with PMI North Atlanta, I work every day with homeowners, small businesses, and investors to navigate the real-world challenges of real estate. I know firsthand the struggles and successes that come with running a business. I will work hard to make sure Johns Creek remains a place where businesses can grow, families can succeed, and opportunity is within reach for everyone.

I am committed to protecting what makes Johns Creek special. Whether it is reducing vacancies, cutting unnecessary red tape, or creating a business environment that welcomes innovation, I will champion policies that keep our economy strong while preserving the quality of life that brought so many of us here in the first place.

A Vision for Johns Creek’s Future

Public safety will always be my top priority. Our police officers and firefighters deserve the tools, resources, and support they need to keep Johns Creek one of the safest cities in the nation. A safe city is a strong city — and it will always be at the top of my list.

I am also committed to protecting your tax dollars through responsible budgeting and smart financial planning. To hold myself accountable, I developed a Fair & Balanced Decision-Making Rubric — a tool I will use to weigh every decision against what matters most: community impact, financial responsibility, public safety, transparency, legal compliance, and long-term sustainability. Every vote I take will be rooted in what is best for Johns Creek — not politics.

But I am not just focused on today — I am thinking about tomorrow. I believe Johns Creek can become the anchor city for Arts and STEM education in metro Atlanta — a place where innovation and creativity thrive. A place where students have access to world-class programs, and families know their kids are being prepared for the future. I want Johns Creek to be a model for other cities to follow.

A Leader Who Listens

Outside of my professional and civic work, I am a proud family man. You will find me at Ocee Park shooting hoops with my kids, playing golf at River Pines, or running with our dogs at the Newtown Dog Park. In my free time, I study theology and linguistics and spend time learning Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Hebrew, and Arabic because I believe in always growing and finding ways to connect with others.

I am running for City Council because I believe Johns Creek’s best days are still ahead. I believe in leadership that puts the community first, solves real problems, and keeps the city we love moving forward the right way. I am ready to listen, to lead, and to fight for a stronger, safer, more connected Johns Creek — for today, and for the generations to come
